Client: Personal Project

In the beginning, all I wanted to do was film BMX, travel to new places to ride and push my skills at film making to the next level…it did not work out this way. My career as a video editor meant that I was on the road for a month at a time and then returning for a weekend before heading out on the road again for another month. Not quite enough time to relax, see friends and BMX let alone start and film my own short film. However, without making at least one short film, my dream of making it into the film industry one day was left on the wayside.

After a long debate with close friends and family, I decided that the best course of action for career and personal growth would be to head off to Australia and join my girlfriend Chloe as she travelled around the whole Country. This gave me the story, the journey and time to create my first short film and hopefully, the first step into a career of making my own adventure films.

Here you can see the trailer for the film with the release of the full 14 minute adventure film being released on the 18th of January 2020 which marks 2 years since we landed back in England after this trip.

Where it began…

I am a filmmaker with a passion for BMXing and seeing the World. Since 2015 I wanted to create my own film capturing BMX in new and exciting places. However, work tended to get in the way so for 2 years the film was just a pipe dream. In 2016 I met Chloe Palmer who was a keen photographer who was about to fly out to Australia for a year. So, realising this could be the only time I could get the time and scenery to film my BMX film in new and exciting places, I followed her out there. We traveled the whole of Australia in a van we'd renovated trying to capture as much of the beautiful landscape and interesting BMX shots as possible. In 2018 we returned to England and I got stuck in editing. However, once again work got in the way of being able to edit the film. Working on it piece by piece whenever I found a spare couple of hours and with re-writes and feedback sessions with some industry professional that I respect lead me to finally get to this point. Two years to the day after arriving back in England I am releasing the final version of this epic journey. It was an incredible process and I have learnt so much by making this film and look forward to the next project!
